Education
ABC provides regional Harm Reduction services in Southern New Mexico and West Texas.
ABC is committed to upholding the well-being and dignity of people who use drugs. Through the provision of educational and resources on safer drug practices, expanding access to the life-saving antidote naloxone, and conducting numerous overdose prevention one on one education.
ABC delivers its services primarily through a combination of a drop-in center and street outreach. These initiatives are focused on reaching individuals in our region who are at risk of opioid overdoses. Our efforts involve providing essential harm reduction supplies, including sterile materials, hygiene kits, HIV testing and education, to those who use drugs. Futermore, we are well-equipped to assist in establishing direct connections to medication-based treatment for individuals dealing with opiod use disorders, all upon their request.
Project HOPE is driven by Peer Recovery Coaches who share their own personal expeience with opiod use disorders and recovery. Their unique backgrounds allow them to connect on a deeper level with the communities we serve and provide tailored, person-centered harm reduction services, fostering trust and understanding among those who use drugs.
