Binational Footprint

ABC’s foundation is deeply rooted in a binational collaboration between the United States and Mexico, driven by the collective expertise of its employees and the support of its funders, which spans over 75 years. Additionally, ABC has accumulated 13 years of valuable experience in the field.

Over the years, ABC’s dedicated staff has forged research and evaluation partnerships with esteemed higher education institutions in Mexico, notably the Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juarez. Furthermore, ABC has engaged in productive collaborations with esteemed private research and evaluation organizations such as the Colegio de la Frontera Norte in Tijuana and Ciudad Juarez Campus.

Notably, ABC recieved support from the U.S. State Department and the Department of State’s Bureau for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, leading to the expansion of a network of community coalitions spanning nine states in Mexico. Over time, this network has grown to encompass 23 coalitions, mobilizing communities to address various challenges, with a particular emphasis on addressing health disparities. Of these coalitions, eleven strategically located along the U.S.-Mexico border, such as in Juarez/El Paso and Tijuana/San Diego, were established by ABC and continue to thrive.

ABC’s unwavering commitment to empowerment is further exemplified through implementation of the Pa’ Que Te Cuides Program in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. This program champions the culture of legality (CoL) as a means of political socialization. CoL, in its conceptualization, guides young children in developing positive attitudes and behaviors as responsible citizens, nurturning their understanding of “justice” and encouraging the creation of new social structures.
