Community Mobilization

The Alliance of Border Collaboratives (ABC) joined Project Concern International and Mexico's National Tuberculosis program to reinforce advocacy and communication efforts in TB prevention. Among the most visible mobilization efforts around TB prevention has been the mobile exhibit called “Nuestra Casa” (Our House) presented with great success at various venues including the 2010 CDC National TB Conference in Atlanta. “Nuestra Casa” exhibits testimonies of people affected by TB gathered using a Photovoice approach developed and disseminated by ABC staff.

The Alliance of Border Collaboratives is also a vehicle to support community action groups like the Paso del Norte Community Health Workers Network and the Southern New Mexico Promotoras Network.
